Blue Mountains Premium Group Day Tour

Blue Moutains Day Tours

Details

When deciding to book your Blue Mountains Day Tour here is important information.

  • We DON’T put people on a public ferry at the conclusion of your day. Some operators choose to do this so they don’t have to return guests to the City. This is a public ferry that has multiple stops and often runs late or has reached capacity meaning guests have to wait for another ferry. It often doesn’t return to the city until after 6pm. This is not the end to a day that we want our guests to experience. As a premium Blue Mountains Day Tour we pride ourselves on returning you to the city.
  • We are the number 1 tour operator in NSW after winning the GOLD award at the 2024 NSW Tourism Association Awards and we were finalists in the 2025 NSW Tourism Association Awards.
  • We pick up in the City and deliver you safely back to the same location between 4pm and 4:30pm.
  • We offer lunch in the Blue Mountains and always make sure you are back in Sydney on time allowing plenty of time for your evening plans.
  • We include all 3 rides at Scenic World including the Cableway, Skyway and the Worlds steepest railway.

We have entertained thousands of international guests. Our tour is recognised as being the best Blue Mountains day tour experience for most of Sydney’s 5 star hotels, google and AI searches. You can book directly on our website, ask your concierge at your hotel or WhatsApp/Message us on our tourism mobile 24/7 on +61 414 011 252 and make your booking.

  • Our consecutive 5 star reviews across all OTA platforms such as Tripadvisor, GetYourGuide and Klook tell their own story. Our tour guides are story tellers and love entertaining. They talk about the history of the Blue Mountains, how they were formed, how the explorers crossed the Blue Mountains back in 1813 and how our country began.
  • On arrival in the Blue Mountains you will immediately feel the relaxed Australian way of life often we are greeted by Australian wildlife such as cockatoos and kookaburras.
  • You will see stunning cliff faces and waterfalls. You’ll ride on all three magnificent rides at Scenic World, including the world’s steepest railway which is included in the ticket price.
  • Following lunch at our selected mountains venue, we depart for the Wildlife Park, where you get to see and interact with the kangaroos and koalas.
  • Your tour guide will then return you directly to your initial pick up location between 4pm and 4:30pm allowing you time to explore our wonderful city.

People from around the world have clearly stated on our consecutive 5 star reviews that our tour is the ‘best tour’ they have ever been on and ‘this tour offers the best value for money’. I encourage you to read our amazing reviews. Every tourist deserves a day in the Blue Mountains to be an experience they will never forget and our unique, energetic and professional guides put on a show that you will remember forever.

Yes. Our premium Blue Mountains Day Tour includes everything! Lunch is included. Foodies love our tour! We believe it’s important on our premium Blue Mountains Day Tour to give our guests an all inclusive experience from start to finish. At lunch we have options for vegetarian, vegan and Gluten free.

Yes. Our Premium Blue Mountains Day Tour includes all 3 rides at Scenic World. Guests love the excitement of all 3 rides including the worlds steepest railway, the Cableway and the Skyway.

Yes. Blue Mountains Day Tours knows how important it is to get a magical photo with a Koala and see the beauty of the Kangaroo. A Koala photo is at your expense for a professional photo but if you choose not to have the professional photo, you can take many photos of Koalas with your own camera. Kangaroos will be hopping amongst the guests or lazing around depending on the weather. You can take as many photos with our world famous Kangaroos.

  • Tipping is a personal choice but we say this; if you’ve loved the experience and your tour guide show them by giving them a tip. Thanks in advance!

This is a common question. During the cooler months between May to August we have cool to cold mornings in the Mountains. From September the weather is warming and often we have warm days from September – April. Our summer months are December, January and February. We say it’s always advisable to either bring a jumper/jacket in the cooler months. The warmer months shorts and casual clothing is probably the best advice. Always wear comfortable shoes.

Unfortunately our larger Toyota Coaster vehicles are not wheelchair compatible however we partner with a very reputable business that specialises in wheelchair transfers. We don’t want anyone missing out on the chance to see the Blue Mountains so if you are full reliant on a wheelchair email us at bookings@chapmantours.com.au or you can message us on WhatsApp 24/7 on +61 414 011252. Our private Wheelchair tours are available subject to availability for $2,500AUS.

Unfortunately NO for our premium group tours as our Toyota Coasters don’t have the capacity to carry collapsible wheelchairs or prams. If however you book a private tour you will be in our Mercedes Sprinter and YES we can accommodate this request as we have suitable room. If guests arrive at the pick up location expecting to enter the bus with collapsible wheelchairs or prams they will not be permitted to enter. This is a safety issue from Transport for NSW.

Unfortunately Transport for NSW rules clearly state that no food or drinks are permitted on public passenger vehicles. This is health and safety issue. Imagine if there was an accident and everyone had a hot coffee so this rule is commonsense. No guests will be permitted to enter the bus whilst having takeaway drinks. Water only is permitted.

Yes if you are a group of 10 or more we are more than happy to provide a group discount. If you are a travel agent email our team at bookings@chapmantours.com.au or you can WhatsApp 24/7 on +61 414 011252

Other companies choose to send their guests back to the city via the ferry and promote this service as a highlight of the day. The reason they do this is so they don’t have to run their guests back into Sydney. We find this a little misleading as the ferry is simply the public ferry that has no commentary, no food or drinks available. It has multiple stops and often reaches capacity which means people have to wait for another ferry. Often the ferry runs late and doesn’t arrive back in the City until after 6pm. This is not the end to a day on our tour that we want our guests to experience. This is why we return all guests back to the city between 4pm and 4:30pm so they can relax and prepare for their evening plans.

Yes, launched in 1945 for passenger only the Scenic Railway is an amazing part of Australian history. We love taking  people on the Scenic Railway and watching their expressions as they ride this once in a lifetime experience.

Yes built in 1956 we love seeing people enjoy the waterfalls and the endless views of the Jamison Valley.

The Scenic Railway was originally built in the 1880s for mining purposes and was converted into a tourist ride in 1945. It was first constructed to transport coal and oil shale from the Jamison Valley, and from 1928 to 1945, it was used for coal during the week and for tourists on weekends. It was the perfect job for the workers who could make some extra money.
  • 1880s: The railway was first constructed as a mining tramway to haul coal and oil shale up to the escarpment.
  • 1928-1945: The railway began carrying passengers on weekends for recreation, while still hauling coal during the week.
  • 1945: The coal mine closed, and the railway was fully converted into a tourist attraction by Harry Hammon, who also founded Scenic World. Scenic World remains in the Hammon family to this day.

YES we have minimum numbers however since starting our business in 2017 we have rarely cancelled due to minimum numbers.

We operate when it is raining because often the weather in Sydney is nothing like the weather in the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains is made up of 3 very steep valley systems and often any inbound storms can split meaning one part of the mountain may experience rain and other parts not. All of our guides are local to the region so we know the weather patterns really well. The only time we will cancel due to weather is when a deep low pressure system forms off our coast and substantial rain is forecast for the region. If we deem it unsafe we will then cancel our tour. This is rare however!

We have entertained thousands of international guests that have had fears of height but when they get to the Blue Mountains they get to see that safety is our number one priority. We only visit lookouts with guard rails, the rides at Scenic World are extremely safe. If in the rare case that someone feels they can’t travel on a ride they can wait in the main area for the group to return however this outcome is very rare.

No we don’t operate where guests can request front seats or back seats. If you feel you would like to be at the front of the bus please choose the Sheraton Grand Hotel as your pick up and this means you will be part of the first group on the bus.

The part of the Blue Mountains that we visit will reach around 1,000 metres above sea level. The road to this locations is all double lane. The actual peak of the Blue Mountains is 1,206 metres however this is a remote location that most people don’t visit.

Some AI platforms are still promoting Kangaroos at Euroka clearing which is not correct. The wild Kangaroos have not been there since 2019 when the wildfires forced them out of the area. The Dingoes which is the main threat to the Kangaroo moved into that land and the Kangaroos have never returned. Some tour groups still promote that they are there but this is not correct. At Chapman Tours, we know they aren’t there as we live just 10 minutes from this location and frequent the park privately most weeks.

The weather can change quickly in the Blue Mountains. Summer months wear clothing suitable for warm weather. Comfortable runners are required. Between March and October we always encourage guests to bring a jacket just in case. Guests can always message our 24/7 mobile prior to their tour or search for weather in the Blue Mountains.

The majority of walking is on level ground. As long as you have comfortable shoes that’s ok. In the case that you go off the main trails the additional trails are flat and accessible.

No we have your details and your name is on our manifest. The driver will call your name and you can enter the bus.

No we do not reserve seats for people however if you would like to sit towards the front of the bus we will instruct you to join our tour at our first pick up location. You will need to contact our 24/7 tourism mobile and let us know you would like to sit towards the front of the bus.

Amazingly this is a question we get often and Chapo is very flattered that people wish to meet him. Chapo lives in the Blue Mountains and is behind the scenes however often comes to the morning coffee break or lunch to meet guests. He is very much invested in his business and his customers. If you are a returning guest and you would like to meet Chapo message our 24/7 tourism mobile and let us know.

Whether you need a visa to visit Australia depends on your nationality and the purpose of your visit—but in most cases, yes, you do need some form of visa or travel authorization.

At Chapman Tours we cater for groups of all sizes. Contact our 24/7 tourism mobile and let us know your travel date and group size and we can plan the adventure with you.
